    Cost Control Officer / Quantity Surveyor - Limassol

    For our client, a leading interior solutions specialist with an established presence in Cyprus, we are looking for an experienced Cost Control Officer / Quantity Surveyor to oversee the commercial and cost-control aspects of construction projects.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Review tenders and construction contracts in collaboration with the company's Internal Legal Counsel prior to submission or signing

    • Identify potentially unfavourable contractual terms and highlight them to the General Manager

    • Review and analyse existing construction contracts, quantities and contractual requirements

    • Prepare and manage contractual claims where required

    • Carry out site inspections and assess additional, variation and extra works

    • Review site diaries maintained by Engineers and Site Supervisors to identify potential contractual claims and ensure relevant events are properly documented

    • Provide guidance and training to Engineers and Site Supervisors on the correct recording and maintenance of site diaries

    • Manage contracts, contractual correspondence, claims and pricing analyses

    • Prepare and maintain project budgets and forecasts

    • Monitor project budgets, costs and schedules and report any significant variances to the General Manager and Technical Department Coordinator

    • Provide guidance to Engineers and Site Supervisors in carrying out measurements and work analyses

    • Conduct on-site measurements and valuations of completed works

    • Prepare and issue interim payment certificates/requests for the main contractor and subcontractors

    • Carry out detailed project costing and cost analysis

    • Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and identify potential cost overruns

    • Support the commercial management of projects and provide accurate financial and cost information to management

    • Ensure all relevant contractual and commercial documentation is maintained accurately and up to date

    • Work closely with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and minimise financial risks

    • Ensure compliance with company Quality Management and Health & Safety procedures

    • Identify and report non-conformities and any issues that may affect project performance, quality or safety

    • Ensure appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and compliance with workplace health and safety requirements

    • Report any situation that may compromise the health and safety of employees, contractors or other persons

    • Carry out any other duties reasonably associated with the position and the normal practice of the profession

     

    Requirements:

    Essential Qualifications & Experience

    • Recognised Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related field

    • Registration with ETEK

    • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience

    • Proven experience in building construction projects

    • Strong knowledge and practical experience in cost control, quantity surveying and project budgeting

    • Experience in contract administration, valuations and claims

    • Very good knowledge of AutoCAD and general computer applications

    • Excellent command of Greek and English, both written and spoken

    • Valid driving licence

    • Training/knowledge in Occupational Health & Safety

    Desirable Qualifications

    • Postgraduate qualification specialising in construction contract law and contractual interpretation

    • Experience with construction contracts, variations and claims

    • Strong understanding of commercial and contractual aspects of construction project.

    Salary:
